"Let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest-time, if we will not give up." Galatians 6:9

"O God, you are my God; eagerly I seek you.

My soul thirsts for you, my flesh faints for you

As in a barren dry land where there is no water.

Therefore I have gazed upon you in your holy place

Where I behold your power and your glory.

For your loving kindness is better than life itself;

My lips shall give you praise.

So will I bless you as long as I live,

And lift up my hands in your name.”

(Psalm 63:1-4)

At the heart of community life at ABSW is our gathering for worship together on Monday evenings at 6:00 p.m. Students, faculty, and staff together open ourselves to God’s loving and gracious presence in our midst. Like our community, our worship is multicultural and seeks to draw on the rich traditions that are present among us.

Our weekly chapel service is an important part of students’ learning experience as they’re given opportunities to help in planning worship, to lead prayers and music, and to preach. Students also have the opportunity to encounter different ways of worshiping, engaging traditions and practices they may not have experienced yet. These encounters help all of us to imagine different ways of worshiping, indeed, different means of encountering the Divine Presence among us!

Over the year, our preachers in chapel include ABSW faculty, staff, GTU faculty, ABSW graduates, local ministers, and students. It is another unique opportunity for students to see the ways the academic commitments at ABSW are integral to the spirituality and lived faithfulness of all our community members.

Come and worship with us!
