REGISTRAR AND DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SERVICES


The American Baptist Seminary of the West (ABSW) was established in 1871 by the American Baptist Churches USA.  The seminary is a founding member of the Graduate Theological Union (GTU), a consortium that works in partnership with and sits adjacent to the University of California at Berkeley. Located in one of the most exciting educational communities in the nation, ABSW is an ATS accredited graduate level institution that prepares women and men for the challenges of ministry in the 21st century.

 

The Registrar and Director of Student Services reports to and works in partnership with the Office of the Academic Dean.

 

Job Description:

The Registrar and Director of Student Services will oversee, organize and implement the following functions of the institution:

            -Processing registration, grades, graduation, transcripts,

-Maintaining course schedules, class rosters, students files, online bookstore

-Organize logistics for all programs, orientation(s), ABSW weekly enews, academic sections of the ABSW web page, disability services, international student concerns

-Provide basic on-site IT assistance to students and faculty

-Attend relevant institutional meetings at ABSW and GTU

 

The Registrar and Director of Student Services must understand and be committed to the Mission of ABSW.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

The Registrar and Director of Student Services will have the following credentials:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree is a plus.

·         Faith based experience (preferred).

·         Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-cultural settings and with a diverse clientele. 

·         Basic writing, typing, computer, and IT skills.
