INTRODUCION A LA TEOLOGIA CRISTIANA

El propósito de este curso introductorio es facilitar la comprensión y la adquisición de conocimientos básicos sobre los principales tópicos que conciernen a la teología sistemática cristiana. A partir de una introducción sobre los métodos de la teología, los estudiantes examinarán las doctrinas clásicas con un enfoque histórico y un acercamiento pastoral. Finalmente, se ofrecerá también una breve introducción a algunos de los temas teológicos contemporáneos.

ANTIGUO TESTAMENTO

Este curso es una introducción básica al Antiguo Testamento. El enfoque será en leer diferentes pasajes y analizarlos en su contexto histórico-literario para poder formular una opinión coherente acerca del contenido del Antiguo Testamento. Algunos de los temas que se estudiaran en estas sesiones serán: como escoger una biblia, como reconocer y estudiar los diferentes géneros literarios del Antiguo Testamento, y como distinguir los diferentes mensajes teológicos del Antiguo Testamento.

CUIDA TUS OVEJAS: Cuidado pastoral en Comunidades Latinas

Instructora: Dra. Liliana Da Valle, Pastora y Profesora en el Area de la Bahía

Fechas: Febrero 2-Mayo 4, 2013

Costo: $300

Este curso ofrecerá un acercamiento práctico y orgánico al acompañamiento pastoral.  Desde una perspectiva metodológica, estudiaremos algunos de los temas más acuciantes en la pastoral: el duelo, los inmigrantes, y los sistemas familiares. Como trabajo práctico, los estudiantes desarrollarán un proyecto de cuidado pastoral en sus contextos.

INTRODUCTION TO CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY

The purpose of this introductory course is to facilitate the understanding and the acquisition of basic knowledge of the main topics of Christian systematic Theology. Starting with an introduction of theological method, students will examine classical doctrines with a historical focus and pastoral approach. A brief introduction to some contemporary theological themes will also be offered.

OLD TESTAMENT

Instructor: Cesar Melgar, Doctoral Student and Professor

Dates: Saturdays, 11 am to 1:30 pm; February 2-May 4, 2013

Cost: $300

This course is a basic introduction to the Old Testament. The focus will be on reading different passages and analyzed them in their historical-literary context in order to formulate a coherent opinion about the content of the Old Testament. Some of the topics that will be studied in these sessions will be: how to choose a Bible, how to recognize and study the different literary genres of the Old Testament, and how to distinguish the different theological messages of the Old Testament.

TEND YOUR SHEEP: Pastoral Care in Latino Communities

Instructor: Dr. Liliana Da Valle, Pastor/Professor in SF Bay Area

Dates: Febrero 2-Mayo 4, 2013

Cost: $300

This course will offer a practical and oranic approach to pastoral accompaniment. From a methodological perspective, we will look at some of the most pressing issues in the pastoral activity: mourning, immigrants, and family systems. As practical work, students will develop a pastoral care project in their contexts.
