“CPE 101” at ABSW
GTU-wide CPE DAY
Interested in chaplaincy and spiritual care? Come to “CPE 101” at ABSW on October 9, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
If you are considering hospital chaplaincy training, training for spiritual care in institutions, or excellent further study in pastoral care, Clinical Pastoral Education may be for you!
“CPE 101” at ABSW is led by Dr. Peter Yuichi Clark, Professor of Pastoral Care.
This is an informational session for ABSW students; others from our community are welcome, too. In addition to being on our faculty, Dr. Clark is Director of Spiritual Care Services, UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals in San Francisco. He will share about how to aply for a CPE program and what is expected of students who are accepted into this training.
This ABSW event is offered as a way to orient our students to CPE, prior to the annual GTU-wide CPE Day, to be held on Wednesday, October 15, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, in the Dennison Common Room at CDSP (Church Divinity School of the Pacific, 2451 Ridge Road, Berkeley). Representatives of CPE programs from hospitals and institutions throughout the Greater Bay Area will be present, sharing information about their particular sites. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Applying to CPE takes advance thought, prayer, and planning because these programs require a hgh level of commitment. Competition is high for the limited number of placements. Learn all about it, on October 9! If you have any questions, pleace check with Dr. Nancy Hall (firstname.lastname@example.org).
